Fruiting bodies medium-sized, rarely large, fleshy. Cap 5-10 cm across, matt, reddish-brown, chestnut-coloured, yellowish-brown. Tubes and pores white, later yellowish. Stem 5—8x1—3 cm, without a network, almost the colour of the cap. Flesh white, firm, with a pleasant smell and taste, not changing colour when cut.
