Green Elfcup
Chlorociboria aeruginascens

Forests, parks, gardens, homesteads. Summer, autumn.
Fruiting bodies tiny. Cap 0.3-0.8 cm across, round and closed when young, later shaped like a small goblet, saucer or bowl, irregularly wavy-flattened, depressed, surface smooth, green. Stem very short, up to 3 cm long and 0.3 mm thick, green. Flesh bluish, tough, thin. Grows on rotten deciduous and coniferous wood – stumps, snags, windfalls, fallen logs – in groups and colonies. The fungus stains the wood green, which is suitable for use in artistic woodcarving. Inedible.
