Fruiting bodies medium-sized. Cap 3-7 cm across, sometimes larger, matt, bluish-green, fading to greyish-greenish. Gills crowded, slightly decurrent, bluish-green. Stem 3-6x0.3-2 cm, the colour of the cap. Flesh greenish, bluish, thin, not bitter, with a strong smell of aniseed. Characteristic features: fruiting bodies bluish-green in colour. Grows in small groups, sometimes a dozen or more fruiting bodies together. Edible, but it might be more valuable in the perfume industry. One of the most fragrant agaric mushrooms. Common.
