Yellow Stagshorn
Calocera viscosa

Most often rotten coniferous wood, especially spruce. Summer, autumn.
Fruiting bodies 3-6 (10) cm tall, sparingly branched, the tip of each branch with a few small teeth, tough, sticky, slimy, yellowish, yellowish-orange, like little flames among the mosses. Flesh tough, yellowish-orange, without a particular smell or taste. Characteristic features: very similar to the coral fungi, but their fruiting bodies are not slimy and their bases lack septa. Grows singly in forests, especially coniferous ones, most often on wood embedded in or hidden in the ground among mosses, and also on the ground. Edible, of low value. Very common, but not abundant.
