Fruiting bodies small. Cap 3-5 (6) cm across, flattened, with an umbo, granular, wrinkled in the middle, finely scaly, orange-brown, brownish-red; the margins with a ragged fringe of the partial veil. Gills narrow, crowded, white, later yellowish, adnate. Stem 4-8x0.3-0.8 cm, with a ring, paler above it, only dotted, and below the ring fibrous, scaly, brownish-pink.
